Wheelchair Fencers "On Guard" for Open Day
New fencers had the opportunity to test their reactions with some practice games and drills, before being kitted up to work on their attacking and Parrying (Blocking) skills.
After this initial training the Fencers were keen to try out their new skills against each other and took part in some competitive practice bouts.
The fencers that took part were invited to go along to the Oxford Fencing Club to improve their skills further with coach Matthew Thompson.
The British Disabled Fencing Association are running a series of these Recruitment Days across the country to encourage more people to take up the sport of Fencing.
