London Olympics inspiring thousands to take up sport

London 2012 has surpassed all expectations. The nation has been captivated, amazed and enthralled by an incredible Games that many think has been the greatest Olympics and Paralympics ever.

GB athletes have done extraordinarily well. Breathtaking wins by Mo Farrah, Jessica Ennis, Nicola Adams, Michael Phelps and Usain Bolt have had us gripped, on the edge of our seats, and are now inspiring thousands of us to get active and get involved in sport.

Oxfordshire Sport Partnership has been working with all our partners in sport to make sure that everybody wanting to take up a sport has the opportunity to do so, not just in the weeks following the Games, but in the months and years ahead.

GO Active offers a range of physical activities across the county to help people get into shape. Activities are low cost, beginner-friendly and open to all ages and abilities. To find out about the many sessions and activities happening near you click here.
