First Aid in Sport

Target Audience

This 3 hour workshop is for anyone involved in the delivery of sport who wishes to learn basic First Aid.

Workshop Summary

This workshop will provide you with knowledge of how to assess an incident, and what to do next. There are practical demonstrations of resuscitation and other techniques to deal with injuries such as sprains and strains. The workshop is tailored to meet the needs of the group but some areas covered will include:

Action at an Emergency
Primary Assessment
Secondary Assessment
Breathing and Circulation
Principles of Resuscitation
Airway Obstruction
Disorders of Circulation
Bleeding

Outcomes

To have the basic knowledge and practical skills to deal with First Aid requirements of colleagues and other people in the workplace / club environment.

Participants will receive a certificate of attendance from an HSE approved provider at the end of the workshop.
